Definition:

Verbs that are followed by an object are called transitive verbs.

Examples:

1. The rain(subject) fell(verb) on the house(object).

2. The baby(subject) cried(verb) on my shoulder(noun/object). 3. The bird(noun) flew(verb) into the window(noun/object).

*Note: there is an action going towards ( →) the object.
