Rules: Verbs that end in “ed” are actions that happened in the past. These verbs are called past tense. |

Continuous |
Verbs that end in “ing” are continuous. Continuous verbs are actions that continue for a length of time. |

Verbs Ending with “ing” and “ed”
Verbs that end in “e” |
Rules: FOR “ED” – If the word ends with “e” and you would like to add “ed,“ simply add a “d” to the end of the word.

Rules: FOR “ED” – If the word ends with “ie” and you would like to add “ed“ to make the word past tense, simply add a “d” to the end of the word. FOR “ING” – If the word ends with “ie” and you would like to add an “ing”, simply replace the “ie” and add “ying.“ *Note: the “y” still has the “ie” |
