Class 8-1: Intransitive Verbs

Definition:

Verbs that are not followed by an object are called intransitive verbs.

Examples:

1. Babies(subject) cry(verb).

2. Students(subject) read(verb).

3. People(subject) talk(verb).

4. Birds(subject) chirp(verb).

*Note: there is no action going toward the  object. There are no words following the verbs.

Common Intransitive Verbs:
