Definition:

An intensive pronoun puts an emphasis on the other nouns or pronouns in the sentence.

Intensive pronouns can be very
similar to reflexive pronouns.

Intensive Pronouns:

myself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourself, themselves

Examples:

1. He himself will do the work. (*Note: himself puts an emphasis on he in the sentence.)

2. She herself is responsible for the bake sale.

3. You yourself are responsible for completing your homework.
