Definition:

Indefinite pronouns replace nouns that are not specific.

Indefinite Pronouns:

all, another, any, anybody, anyone, anything, both, each, either, everybody, everyone, everything, few, many, neither, nobody, none, no one, nothing, one, several, some, somebody, someone, something

Examples:

1. I gave all my money to him.

2. Both of them are happy.

3. Everybody must sign the form.

Indefinite Pronoun Rules

All is 100% of the idea.

Another – is asking you to choose a different option.

Any is when you don’t care which option is chosen.

Anybody is anyone, and there is no preference of what person is chosen. Any is the same as anyone.

Anyoneis when there is no preference of what person is chosen. Any is the same as anybody.

Anything – is when there is no preference of what thing is chosen. Note: a thing is not a person.

Bothincludes (two) ideas, things, people, or places.

Eachis when you want to separate, but you still want 100%.

Eitheris when you have two options, and you do not care which option you get.

Everybodyis 100% of all the people.

Everyone – is 100% of all the people.

Everything – is 100%. Note: a thing is not a person.

Few is three (3).

Many– is 50% to 70%.

Neitheris when you have two options and you choose nothing.

Nobody – is none, and no person will be accepted. Same as no one.

None is 0%.

Noone  is when no person will be accepted. No one is the same as nobody.

Nothing – is 0%.

Oneis simply one (1).

Severalis three (3).

Someis three (3).

Somebodyis whena decision needs to be made on which person is chosen, but you do not care who is chosen.

Someoneisan unknown person, and you do not know the person’s name.

Something – is when a choice needs to be made on which thing is chosen, but you do not care what is chosen.
