Rules: Noncount nouns are singular and need a singular verb. | Examples: 1. The water is good. 2. The coffee tastes great. 3. The soda looks like Coke. |
Count nouns can be both singular and plural. The verb needs to match the subject of the sentence. | 1. The books are on the table. 2. The book is on the table. |
Collective nouns are nouns that mean more than one person. Collective nouns are used with singular verbs.(Examples: team, group, party) | 1. The team won the competition. 2. We made a reservation for a party of five. |
