He is going to need a doctor.

Rules:

He / She / It are singular nouns, so you must use a singular verb. (Example 1)

is = singular auxiliary verb (Example 2)

He / She / It is (Example 3)

He / She / It bikes. (Example 4)

*Note: s is used at the end of the verb if the sentence has He / She / It as the subject.

Examples:

1. He is going to the store.

2. She is going to the store.

3. It is going to the store.

4. She runs all day. (Note: You need an s” at the end of run.)

*Note: Was can also be used as the past tense form of is.

They / You, use plural verbs (Example 1)

are = plural auxiliary verb (Example 2)

They / You / We are (Example 3)

They / You / We run every day. (Example 4)

*Note: s is not used at the end of the verb if the sentence has They /  You /  We as the subject.

1. They are going to the store.

2. You are going to the store.

3. They are looking at a car.

4. We run every day. (*Note: You do not need an s” at the end of run.)
