Class 2-3: Verbs that End with a Vowel Followed by a Consonant

Rules: If the last three letters of the verb ends with: consonant→vowel→consonant and it is a one-syllable verb: 1. Double the consonant and add an “ed” to make the verb past tense. 2. Double the consonant and add an “ing” to make the verb continuous. |
Examples: One-syllable words 1. drag – dragged – dragging 2. stop – stopped – stopping consonant →vowel →consonant drag: |
