Definition: Nonprogressive or nonaction verbs refer to or describe mental actions. (Mental Actions: emotional, mental and possession) These verbs describe general feelings or actions. Nonprogressive verbs are always written in the simple tense. | Examples: 1. (feel) I feel sad about my grandmother dying. 2. (think) I think I should study before my test tomorrow. 3. (taste) The pizza tastes great. 4. (smell) The bakery smells great. 5. (be) I am excited. 6. (understand)I understand your question. 7. (appreciate) I appreciate your time today. |
